As a construction business that has spent the last 40 years working hard to deliver the best for our clients, it’s rewarding when we get official recognition.

This October we’ll be at the Construction Enquirer Awards at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole. That’s after getting in the top ten for the Best Main Contractor to Work For (under £50m) category award.

The night is going to be hosted by architect and broadcaster George Clarke and the comedy will be provided by Mock the Week regular Gary Delaney.

It will be an honour to share the occasion with many of the top construction companies in the UK. One of the key aspects of our operation, one that we’ve always been focused on throughout those 40 years, is how we treat our staff. You only get the best when you offer something above and beyond the average company.

We ensure that our teams always have the tools they need to do the job at hand. Our management processes are continually being updated so that we can ensure we’re an open and responsive company. Over the years, our teams have worked on some pretty important projects for some big names in the UK, including Liverpool John Moore’s University. You can’t do that without a really good workforce.

Corporate and social responsibility is high on our agenda and our involvement in social activities like The Brick, which helps the homeless and those in financial difficulty, and the Podclub, which is aimed at providing support for parents and carers.

We’re also a construction company that takes its responsibilities to our staff seriously. We have an excellent health and safety record and we always ensure that the teams who work with us are well trained and up to date with on the latest regulations.

We’re also keen to act sustainably. We source our materials from companies that share our ethos. When we undertake any project, we focus on recycling and repurposing waste rather than sending it to landfill.

This is something that our clients love and which our staff are fully engaged with. In fact, it’s what helps to attract the top talent that helps us deliver great new builds and refurbishments for the commercial and domestic sectors. Many of our building staff have been with us for a long time and have the opportunity to work on a wide range of products.

Over the years, we completed refurbishments and new builds for universities, schools, the pharmaceutical, aviation, and research industries to name just a few. Key to our success has been the transparent way in which we work with all stakeholders, collaborating with them to provide high quality builds that really make a difference.

It may be down to the fact that we’re a family owned business who still have that close knit ethos from the time we first began 40 years ago. We’re really honoured to be included in the Construction Enquirer Awards this October and we’re also looking forward to attending the ceremony.
